OLD ROCK DAY

Today is the day
to celebrate old rocks.
No, I am not off my rocker
I am just putting in a few words
why rocks should be respected.
When digging around and underneath
one could break a toe, an arm
or smash your head or house.

My woodland garden has ones
that trip me, move about and
are in the way.

Why do people hate old rocks?
Is it because they are free?
They replace dirty old, odd shaped
rocks with man made smooth ones.
I am happy with the ones
God created and dumped
in my woodland garden.
There is a rock fence
between the upper
and lower level.
I love my old rocks
I wish I had many more.

This is cute, Mary. If you want more rocks, you can farm them from our property. They are aplenty here!

Happy belated rock day! How are you finding out about all these holidays such as bean and rock day? I also love the picture if your garden.

Hi Missy. I just placed in crazy holidays for 2011 or 2011 holidays. I am not sure how I placed it in the search engine.

Do you see the rock fence/ledge in the background. I am glad you liked my picture.

Kerri, I might just come out there this Spring and pick your crop clean. Thanks for the offer.

I love your rock wall, it's reminds me of the ones I saw in Gettysburg built years ago by soldiers.

Why don't we have a rock exchange? I'll send some from Washington State and you send me some from where you are!

We made ours into a little rock fence around the front garden. Rocks and gardens...they like each other and we like them both together.

Even this new generation of kids likes rocks. I hear them say it all the time..."Rock on, dude!"

Hi Donna, kids and adults have always love rocks. Our family has always been rock lovers. We have an artist who lives in our state who paints on rocks and has published many books on the subjects.
