Mary Nida Smith Press Release.

My book "Heroes Beneath the Waves: Submarine Stories of the Twentieth Century" is an easy read for preteens and up, to learn more about the U.S. Navy Submarine Service and the men who served. Hopefully, family members and friends will understand why their love one, who served, will not talk about it. The submariners were taught "Loose lips Sink Ships." I tried to gather stories and information that would help young kids, wives, and others to have a better understand what happens below the sea and of the ones, who never returned, as sea became their final grave. Skyhorse Publishing Inc.

My poem Cowboy Jo was selected to be published in 2017 publication of "SILO." The College of Southern Idaho's literary journal: http://www.csi.edu/silo.
I am honored to be selected in a town I spent nine years. Where I was involved with Idaho Writers League (President Twin Falls Chapter) and where my freelance writing and doing illustrations took off. I always try to make the best out of all the places I have been - each was a learning adventure. God is always at work. I feel so blessed.

I was invited by J. Patrick Lewis, former U.S. Children’s Poet Laureate (2011-2013) to write an Arkansas poem (with his guidance) for America Book of Poems by Mr. Lewis for National Geographic that was released fall of 2018.
