Ozarks Writers League

What a great day for OWL! We have three members who have stepped up to serve on the Nominating Committee, which will form the 2018 slate of officers for OWL members to consider in November.
Caroline Giammanco has agreed to serve as chairperson, and OWLs Nancy Hartney and Bonnie Tesh will serve as committee members. THANK YOU to each of our volunteers.
If you'd be interested in serving as an officer next year, please contact one of these fine OWLs to discuss it.
Caroline can be reached at booniehatbandit@yahoo.com, Bonnie at bonkate@hotmail.com, and Nancy at nancy.hartney@gmail.com.

In this 2018 edition of Encore, the National Federation of State Poetry Societies presents the top 150 prize-winning poems selected from nearly 7,000 submissions from states across the U.S., as well as the United Kingdom and Canada. The 50 contests challenged authors to write in many poetic forms, such as rondeau, trimeric, terza rima sonnet, minute, and villanelle. They also provoked fresh, personal interpretations of wide-ranging themes. The 2018 anthology is a collection to savor.

Pat Durman, member of the Free verse Group, Mountain Home, AR has the honor to be published in Encore.

Ozarks Writers League

Dear OWLs,

The Ozarks Writers League Board of Directors includes four officer positions: President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.

The bylaws state that no one can serve more than two consecutive terms in an officer's position. That means that both our President and Treasurer will not be able to serve another term as an officer.

We need a Nominating Committee to seek out next year's officers. If you would like to serve as an officer or would like to at least serve on the Nominating Committee.

OWL's future depends on every member supporting the organization. We are all volunteers.

Your OWL Board of Directors

Great group to learn from, and friends for support and knowledge. I been a member since 93 and had the honor of being vice-president.
